A refresh for women making art

New ventures and IRL spaces make room for change at women making art.

Women Making Art was founded on a simple mission: that the work of women artists should be recognised seen, documented, and remembered. As a living archive of exhibitions, women making art visit shows, converse with artists, and write about the work they produce - bridging the gap between the fleeting experience of a gallery visit and the longer arc of cultural memory.

In 2025, WMA asked LULACREATES to work on refreshing the overarching women making art brand whilst developing extensions that make room for its soon to launch physical space, featuring a reading room and collection. 

The design challenge was to refresh and redevelop a visual identity that communicates everything WMA stands for: the intimacy of the archive, the warmth of a community, and the ambition of an organisation dedicated to amplifying women's presence and contribution within the art world. By honouring the brand's journey so far whilst creating space for something new, we crafted a refreshed brand identity that can take the organisation into its next evolution - whilst WMA continues to do the amazing work of amplifying and celebrating the work of women in the world of art.
